The Marches Careers Hub supports institutions within the local authority areas of Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin and works to transform careers education across The Marches region by linking education with business and helping secondary schools and colleges achieve the Gatsby Benchmarks of world class careers guidance.

We look for candidates with strong GCSE results including Grade 5+ in Maths and English
Degree Apprenticeships (Level 5-7) are also available for suitable candidates after completing an initial trial period or Level 3 apprenticeship.
J&PR is an award winning PR and content creation agency in Shropshire.

J&PR was launched in 2012 by two former colleagues who had spent many years working together as journalists.
Rhea and Kirsty started as two sole traders working from their kitchen tables and now boast a team of eight talented PR account managers and a digital team at their offices in Wellington, Shropshire.
The team includes Kirsty, Managing Director, who did A ‘levels and a journalism degree and entered the world of print media where she enjoyed being a crime correspondent for 10 years. Rhea, Operations Manager, did an NVQ through an in-house training course with one of the biggest regional daily print publications in the UK.
Their team includes a marketing graduate; a digital marketing apprentice who is now the Digital Manager and a digital marketing apprentice who moved from a full time role in a business where she wasn’t receiving any training to a full-time digital marketing apprenticeship at J&PR.
All employees can experience all areas of the business from social media management, content creation, copywriting, media training, guest speaking, video creation, interviewing, case studies, blog writing and more.

We have had one apprentice in the company to date, who joined us a Marketing Assistant and now
works with us full-time, recently promoted to Digital Marketing Executive. She was initially brought
on to support all our marketing accounts, specifically social media marketing and digital
administration. We believe passionately in education, experience and professional development and
she has absorbed all the opportunities presented to her. She is a key part of our team now.

Dyke Yaxley is one of the leading independent chartered accountancies in Shropshire, with offices in

As mentioned previously, Dyke Yaxley have a culture that is rare amongst medium sized businesses
in 2022. We enjoy a team based culture, where no job is ‘below’ anyone working here. Trainees will
enjoy working with Directors, Consultants, and Client Managers as well as their peers, as we expose
them to the wealth of knowledge these staff members have to offer.
There is also a humanistic based approach, where we appreciate that our staff are human beings
first for foremost. Our staff have lives outside of the business and we are well aware of the need for
a good work life balance. Employee wellbeing and good mental health is a key at DY, and we ensure
our staff have the various outlets required to ensure they are happy at work.
We also offer a great training and study support package, which is available to all staff. DY
acknowledge that our services are a reflection of our expert staff, so we ensure they are updated
with all new legislation and CPD requirements are met and maintained.
Dyke Yaxley offer apprenticeships and trainee programmes for people of all ages. Minimum entry
requirements are five GCSE’s, A* – C, and two A-Levels, A* – C, with maths based qualifications being
desirable but not essential. Typically, we recruit for around 6-8 trainees every July to commence on
the Trainee Training Programme, and this entails are robust programme which lasts around 3-4
weeks. We utilise our expert staff to teach our trainees everything they need to know about
accounts, we also set them up on all our software including QuickBooks, pro-audit and Xero, so they
can easily assist our client’s queries.
We enrol trainees onto AAT or ACA to help with their development; this is all at the cost of the
employer and ensures the trainees get a formal qualification at the end of their study.

Work experience opportunities, apprenticeships and graduate placements are on a first come first served each year. All placements are at our offices so the ability to commute by car is essential, free parking is available on site. Our latest apprentice, Annabel, won Apprentice of the Year 2022 at Telford College.
